About Me
Hi, I’m Jayson Clyde—the founder, lead photographer, and creative behind JCG Satsuei Group. I’m a Filipino who’s been living in Japan for over 13 years. My journey here began in 2011, just months after the devastating earthquake. But my story starts much earlier. My mom moved to Japan when I was just five years old, seeking better opportunities as a single mother. In the Philippines, stable and well-paying jobs are hard to come by, especially without a degree—so she made the brave decision to build a future for us here in Japan. Years later, I followed her path and began my own. I discovered my love for photography and videography when I was 15, starting with an iPod Touch and later an iPhone 5. Back then, I was obsessed with making YouTube videos—comedy sketches, short films, cycling adventures, and landscapes. At 16, I got my first part-time job, and by 17, I bought my first DSLR: the Canon Kiss X8i. What started as a hobby turned into a passion, and now it’s the way I make a living—capturing people’s most important memories. Today, I feel lucky to do what I love: tell stories through my lens and help others remember the most beautiful chapters of their lives.
